BRIEF OF OPERATING DEPARTMENT – WALTAIR
ØWaltair Division has loaded 61.17 Million Tonnes during the year 2020-21 which was 30% of East Coast Railway’s loading. The average No. of outward rakes was 46.7 rakes per day and the inward was 35.5 rakes per day during the same period. Major commodities carried are Imported Coal, Iron Ore, Fertilizer, POL, Bauxite, Iron Steel, Alumina powder and Containers.
ØThe Division has 14 Goods sheds and 17 Private sidings for loading and unloading activities. Major loading points are Visakhapatnam Port (VZP). Gangavaram Port (MGPV), KRDL/BCHL of NMDC, Visakhapatnam Steel Plant (VSPS), Damanjodi (NLOD), Tikiri (MUAT), Kakriguma (KKGM) and PFT of CONCOR (CCJS).
ØThe Division interchanges around 162 trains per day with three interchange points viz., PALASA (PSA), SINGAPUR ROAD (SPRD) and DUVVADA (DVD).
