FRONT FACADE & CIRCULATING AREA, FOOT OVER BRIDGE & ESCALATOR o­n EAST SIDE ENTRY AT CUTTACK RAILWAY STATION DEDICATED TO THE NATION:

EXTENSION OF CUTTACK-BRAHMAPUR MEMU AND ADDITIONAL STOPPAGE FOR HIRAKUD & PURI-AJMER EXPRESS ANNOUNCED

Union Minister of Petroleum &Natural Gas and Skill Development & Entrepreneurship Shri Dharmendra Pradhan & Union Minister of Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare Shri Radhamohan Singh dedicated the improved front facade & circulating area of Cuttack Railway Station at a function held at a function at CRRI, Cuttack.

Union Ministers also dedicated the 6 metre wide Foot Over Bridge, more Passenger facilities including Escalator o­n East side Entry of Cuttack Railway Station and announced the additional Stoppage of Visakhapatnam-Amritsar-Visakhapatnam Hirakud Express and Puri-Ajmer-Puri Express at Naraj Marthapur Railway Station, o­n this occasion.

Cuttack Railway Station was chosen by Ministry of Railways for redevelopment to give passenger and public at large, a feel good factor and memorable experience.  A work costing approx. Rs. 10 Cr. was sanctioned by the Ministry.

            Keeping above in view, Station Re-development Plan was conceived, providing for development of circulating area, parking spaces, wider approach roads with pathways and median o­n both the entries (Gate No.1 & 2), development of green spaces, 06 mtr. wide new FOB across all platforms, provision of Escalators/Lifts, access control wall with thematic paintings o­n both the sides of the station, upgradation of all Passenger Amenities viz. Waiting Rooms, Retiring Rooms, Food Plazas, Water Booths, Passenger Information System and Platforms, etc.  In order to improve security, additional CCTV Cameras, integrated Security System have been installed. 

MAJOR WORKS CARRIED OUT ARE AS UNDER :

(i)         Widening of existing road from 20 ft. to 60 ft. with pathways o­n both sides and a median.

(ii)        Shifting of overhead power cables to underground.

(iii)       Paver Blocks o­n all parking spaces.

(iv)       Façade improvement with monumental lighting, Illuminated Fountains and chandeliers in concourse.

(v)        Thematic painting o­n approach road and walls along the railway line.

(vi)       Development of green spaces o­n the station approaches and large scale tree plantation.

(vii)      Provision of 06 mtr. wide FOB across all platforms.

(viii)     Provision of Escalator o­n East side entry.

(ix)       Provision of new furniture in Retiring Rooms.

(x)        Improved Passenger Information System.

(xi)       Provision of Digital Museum to show public rich heritage.

(xii)      Airport level illumination.

(xiii)     Selfie Zone.

(xiv)     Provision of Plastic Bottle Crushers o­n all platforms as a part of Environment-friendly measures.

(xv)      Cuttack being the birth place of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, a gallery dedicated to Netaji in the concourse.

(xvi)     It is further planned to provided Solid Waste Management Plant shortly at Cuttack.
