ØWaltair Division loaded 76.48 Million Tonnes during the year 2023-24 which is 30% of East Coast Railway’s loading. The average No. of outward rakes is 57.5 rakes per day and the inward is 42.4 rakes per day during the above period. Major commodities carried are Imported Coal, Iron Ore, Fertilizer, POL, Bauxite, Iron Steel, Alumina powder and Containers.
ØThe Division has 15 Goods sheds and 19 Private sidings for loading and unloading activities. Major loading points are Visakhapatnam Port (VZP). Gangavaram Port (MGPV), KRDL/BCHL of NMDC, Visakhapatnam Steel Plant (VSPS), Damanjodi (NLOD), Tikiri (MUAT), Kakriguma (KKGM),Private Siding of M/s NMDC STEEL Ltd, Amagura (NMAG) and PFT of CONCOR (CCJS).
ØThe Division interchanges around 148 trains per day with three interchange points viz., PALASA (PSA), SINGAPUR ROAD (SPRD) and DUVVADA (DVD).
